He says that as soon as he knew what a fashion designer was, that's what he decided he was going to do. After studying, and working at Monsoon, he went to India, had some sample garments made, sent a postcard to Plum Sykes at Vogue - he didn't know her, just liked the sound of her name! The clothes made their way into Vogue, then Tatler; Jade Jagger asked if she could keep one of his skirts, then introduced him to Kate Moss. Nowadays he's also friendly with Bjork and Kelis, and his 2007 runway show was used in Prince's video for 'Chelsea Rodgers', from the Planet Earth album. Looking at the Spring Collection for 2013, the colours show the Indian influence is still there.
